PayPal is a secure method of making and accepting payments for transactions with the certainty that the payment is real and the credit card information is protected. Businesses seeking to receive payments through PayPal establish an account with the service. There is a transaction fee deducted from each payment. The customer also establishes an account with the service. The customer informs PayPal to charge their credit card for the transaction amount. When this transaction has been accepted by the credit card company, the funds are then deposited into the seller's bank account less the transaction fee. If an adjustment has to be made to a transaction, the seller issues a credit and PayPal transfers the credit back to the customer.
13. How much does PayPal charge to process a payment?
The transaction fee is about 3% which is about the same as the credit card companies charge for processing credit card payments.
